Bainbridge-- Bainbridge College was recently notified that the family of the late Walter Cox wanted to donate his papers to the library there.

The college has some organizational work to complete.  But they're excited they were chosen as the archival headquarters for the collection. Susan Ralph, Bainbridge College Library Director says, "We're hoping historians will come in and do research with these and perhaps write a book on the area. Things that went on, the politics of the area."

Cox served as mayor Bainbridge from 1970 to 1974. He served in the Georgia general assembly from 1975-1989. He's also the father of former secretary of state Cathy Cox.
