Cairo-- Fifty-four-year old Edward Smith was traveling south on Hadley Ferry Road when he lost control of the car, struck an embankment, and flipped. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he died.

The Grady county sheriff's office says Smith's blood alcohol level was over the legal limit.   Sheriff Harry Young, "I was hoping we wouldn't have a death but I made the statement yesterday we'd probably have a couple fatalities, deaths just strictly from DUI and now we've already had one so, its very sad."

The Grady county sheriff's office says they'll double patrols over the holiday weekend.
