Dougherty County -- An Albany firefighter was burned while fighting a fire in Putney Tuesday morning.

 A space heater caught a couch on fire at this house on Stagecoach Road. 

Ten year veteran Firefighter Calvin Austin suffered second degree burns on his face. Austin continued fighting the fire until it was extinguished, and then was taken to a hospital for treatment. Fire Department officials say he was not seriously injured.

The owner of the home, James Goodman, was not home when the fire started. The damage is estimated at $30,000.
