Santa Welcomed to Albany

November 16, 2007

Albany - - The classic Christmas song "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" doesn't apply in Albany anymore.

Ole Saint Nick is already in town.

A big crowd gathered at the Albany Mall Friday to welcome Santa. He arrived in a train driven by some of his helpers. Folks showed up well in advance to make sure their kids got a good view. For some, this is an annual tradition.

"Only three. Been here every year. Haven't missed a year? No, not at all. It's important for our children. It's important for Kaitlyn to have the spirit," says Marshall Wilcox.

Our Karen Cohilas sang with children as they celebrated Santa's arrival. Kids can talk to Santa at the mall from 10 am until 8 pm Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 on Sundays.

But remember, Santa does take lunch and dinner breaks.
