Law enforcement day at Albany State University

November 16, 2007

Albany -- The first Annual Law Enforcement Day was held on the ASU campus.

The Albany Dougherty Drug Unit showed off drug sniffing dogs and officers were there from Albany Police, Dougherty County Police, Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, and Albany State University Police Departments.

University Police say they want their students to really know what Police Officers are like. Albany State University Police Chief Roberson Brown said "I don't want them to see us as the tough arm of the law all the time. I want them to know there is a soft side. Maybe even recruit a couple of them. We have graduation coming up next month, and we could use some good police officers."

Chief Brown said he plans to make this Law Enforcement Day an annual event at Albany State University.
