Albany - More than 20 million Americans have with diabetes, and 54 million are at risk and don't even know it. Hospital employees and visitors at Phoebe Putney got free blood screenings today.

A normal blood sugar level is between 80 and 120. If your's is out of that range, even without a history of diabetes in your family, you should contact your doctor. Cynthia McCorkle said, "We hold the screenings in the hospital every year to screen the community for diabetes to see if they need to go to their physician and maybe have further testing."

November is national diabetes awareness month. If untreated, diabetes can cause kidney or pancreatic problems and even blindness.
