Three more MRSA cases found in Lowndes County

November 15, 2007

Lowndes County - Three more cases of MRSA have been reported in Lowndes County.

School administrators say the cases of the drug-resistant staph infection occurred at Hahira Elementary, Lowndes middle and Clyattville Elementary.

They said as soon as each case is reported, they rigorous clean the schools from floor to ceiling.

"We have a product called santimaster four that we actually use with our seven step cleaning. Our employees have been instructed to wipe walls, desks, mop the floor, door knots, etc," says Chris Evans, Director of Environmental Services for the Lowndes County School system.

Three other cases have been reported in schools in Lowndes County since October.  Those occurred at Lowndes High, Pine Grove Elementary, and another at Clyattville Elementary.
