Farm analyst says agriculture markets expanding

November 14, 2007

Albany -- A stock market farm analyst tells peanut producers that the world's energy demands will make agriculture more lucrative in the coming years.

The Grain Analyst for A. G. Edwards investment firm told American Peanut Shellers Association members today that bio-fuels have dramatically increased the need for farm land worldwide.

A.G. Edwards Grain Analyst William Nelson said ""it's having a shock on the world grain situation. All of the sudden there has been this new demand show up in the form of renewable fuels. That is requiring competition for acreage."

Analysts predict markets for ethanol and bio-diesel will expand in Brazil, China,  Europe, and the United States.  That will mean increased need for farmland, and agricultural products.
