November 13, 2007

Albany - It's official. A long-time Albany Police Officer is demoted from Lieutenant to Sergeant.

Hosea Miller was given notice of a 30-day suspension notice in August for sexual harassment and improper conduct with two female police recruits.

Miller accepted the suspension, but on the day he was to begin serving it, he was given a notice that the city instead intended to demote him.

He appealed the demotion, but this afternoon, City Manager Alfred Lott upheld it.

Miller's demotion is effective immediately. He's now working in the police department's Planning and Development division managing grants, certification and accreditation process.
