Albany - Westover High is back in the state playoffs for the first time in three years.
The Patriots will travel back to the site of one of their biggest wins in school history.
Westover plays at Thomson in the first round of the state playoffs.
Three years ago, the Patriots marched into Thomson's Brickyard and handed former Dougherty coach Luther Welsh's Bulldogs a 26-14 victory.
It is the only state playoff win in Westover history.
The players on both teams may be different this year but Westover coach Jeff Caldwell knows Luther Welsh is reminding his Bulldogs what happened the last time they played the Patriots.
Caldwell is telling his team that history can repeat itself.
Jeff Caldwell said "The main thing is go, compete, play hard and do the best we possibly can. If we make the right plays and not make mistakes, then we will win the football game."
Westover plays at Thomson Friday night at 7:30 p.m..
