APD has warning for Westwind Apartments

November 13, 2007

Albany-  Four armed robberies and two aggravated assaults in the last month at a northwest Albany Apartment complex have Albany Police warning those living there to be on guard.

At Westwind Apartments on Dawson Road, two men with guns are accosting people as they get in and out of cars in the apartment complex parking lot between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

"I want to make the public aware of what's going on so they won't be caught off guard, if something happens. They can be more alert when they're in the parking lot, when they're leaving work, coming home from work, just be more aware of your surroundings," said Lt. Kendra Wilson, Albany Police.

Police don't believe these suspects are associated with the armed robbery at Firehouse Subs this past weekend. If you have any information on the suspects you're urged to call CrimeStoppers at 436-TIPS.
