Albany - The ten commandments will soon be on display in the Dougherty County Courthouse. First Baptist Church of Putney donated a foundation of law display to the Dougherty County Commission this morning.

Last year, lawmakers passed a bill that allows the ten commandments to be displayed, as long as they are part of a historical display. "It's just to help educate citizens on how we were founded as a nation so they can see that. The legislature asked that it be placed in a judicial building, that way when people come into a court of law they can see some of what our law is based upon," said Rev. Joe Carr. The display cost about $900.
