Albany - The new director of First Tee of Albany wants to get more young people involved in the organization. Burkett Carver, took over as Director of First Tee this summer. He says he wants to reach out to the some 12,000 young people who could be impacted by the program, which strives to impact young people through character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

Carver said, "These values run hand in hand with the game of golf because you are respecting your playing partners, yourself and the golf course at the same time you're learning all about respect, all about perseverance, all about honesty, confidence, sportsmanship, and the other core values."

First Tee is also looking for more volunteers to help with instruction of children.
