Thomasville--It's the fourth year veterans and others have gathered at the Thomas county courthouse.  Sheriff Carlton Powell says the ceremony grows every year, and he's glad it's become a Thomas county tradition to pay tribute to our veterans.

"Quite often they're right around us and we don't recognize them. I mean, they don't brag about it and they've done their duty and they're still out there preserving our country, working every day and supporting those who are fighting for us," says Powell.

Veteran Bill Raiford adds, "I think its good that we all come together who are veterans and also the public supports this very well."

Thomasville and Thomas County Central high schools ROTC programs and Brookwood School's choir all participated in this morning's ceremony.
