Athens -- It was a surprise brewing since the summer, and the Georgia football team unveiled the big secret Saturday in a 45-20 win against Auburn.

Black Jersey's.

Coach Mark Richt and the Bulldog seniors hatched the plan for the alternate uniform over the summer, and kept it a secret until Saturday.

Even the underclassman were left in the dark.

Georgia warmed up in its regular red uniforms, before donning the dark colors for the first time in the modern era.

Running back Thomas Brown says, "The seniors and coach Richt knew before the season, and we were trying to keep it quiet all year. I think telling the fans to come in in all black may have given it away a little bit, but it was a big emotional boost for us."

Wide receiver Sean Bailey says, "Coach Richt called us in, because it's something we've been asking for for four years now, and he was like 'Can you guys keep a secret?' and we were like 'Yeah.'  I think we did a good job because the underclassman had no idea we were doing this."

Brandon Miller says, "It was kind of hard keeping the secret from everyone, especially today. I wanted to tell someone today. I think it was well worth it."

"It was great to have them," says quarterback Matthew Stafford. "Just like Florida, you can have all the emotion you want, but it comes down to execution and making plays."

Coach Mark Richt says, "We came back out on the field after the coin toss, and just looked around, and it was if we were in a movie or something. It was pretty surreal, and it meant a lot to the players to see Bulldog nation unite like that."

Freshman Knowshon Moreno ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns in the victory, and UGA scored over forty points for the third straight week.

Georgia plays Kentucky in its last SEC game of the season Saturday.

Tennessee holds the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs, and would have to lose against Vanderbilt or Kentucky for UGA to have a shot at the SEC title.
