November 9, 2007

Frankfort, Ky. - The Albany State volleyball team saved their best play for when it counted the most.

The Lady Rams won three matches on Friday to win the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title for a seventh straight year and with it earn another trip to the NCAA Division II Regionals.

After losing to Benedict 3-1 on Thursday, the Lady Rams made quick work of Clark-Atlanta 3-0 to earn another shot at the Tigers.

Benedict won two of the first three games but the Lady Rams won the final two to force a final game for the title.

After each team split the first two games, the fifth game was tied 12-12 before the Lady Rams would pull out the conference clincher with a 15-13 win in game five.
