Albany-- Albany State University will be playing host this weekend to nearly seven-hundred Delta Sigma Theta Sorority members. The event called the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's Georgia Cluster will bring members from across the state together to implement new strategies for a wide range of community development projects that organizers say will be the highlight of the event.

"We have the opportunity to go into the community and do educational projects, we do physical and mental health projects, economic development projects and numerous other projects. So the workshops that we have this weekend will be based on those projects" said Chairman Viola Brooks.

The Albany Chapter often provides needed funds and supplies to care for HIV/AIDS patients, and conducts voter registration drives and health clinics in partnership with the Dougherty County Health Department.
