Albany  -- A 16-year-old stops a home invasion in Albany by punching the intruder in the face.

Just after noon a masked man kicked in the front door of the teen's home at the Nottingham Apartments just off Stuart Avenue.

Stanley Frierson was working at a computer near that door. When the masked man rushed inside, Frierson punched him in the face, sending the stunned invader running empty-handed back across Stuart Avenue. He disappearing into the apartments across the road.

The home invader was dressed all in black, with a mask covering all but his eyes. That is the same description as the armed robber who tried to hold up a convenience store just a half block away Wednesday night. The store clerk fired a shot at that robber, sending him running for his life.

No arrests have been made in either robbery attempt.
