Grady County-- What's left of Willow Grove Church was still smoldering this afternoon as sheriffs investigators surveyed the damage. Spence Volunteer Fire Department got the call around midnight when someone passing by saw the fire.

Investigator Steve Clark of the Grady County Sheriff's Office says, "When they got here it was fully involved and basically at that point in time it was just a containment effort. As you can see, it was kind of nestled in here in a wood line and as dry as it is, if it had gone off into the woods, we would have sure enough had a bad problem."

In 2004, another fire burned down the fellowship hall at this same church. The cause of last night's fire is unknown right now, but the Georgia Department of Insurance will investigate to find out if this could be arson.
