Cook County - Thirty-year-old Christopher Wayne Reese of Sparks is now behind bars, facing murder charges.

"Concealment of the body and of course that type of thing will be taken into consideration for further charges. But at this time we will say he'll be charged with murder today," says Capt. Colin Millison, Cook County Chief Deputy.

Investigators believe he killed his girlfriend Connie Roy last Thursday.  "Initially we were called by family members who were concerned when they hadn't heard from her in a few days."

Her body wasn't found until Monday when deputies were called to their home off Springhill Road. They discovered Roy's body in the trunk of her car, behind the home.

Reese was inside where deputies say he had attempted suicide.  "He had some superficial wounds. He was treated at the hospital that night, released that night and he's been incarcerated here at the sheriff's office ever since."

Investigators hope to soon have autopsy results to confirm her cause of death.
