Thomasville controls its own destiny

November 7, 2007

Thomasville -- The Thomasville Bulldogs are on a seven-game win streak, and have a chance to wrap up a region title Friday night, but they can also finish as low as third.

The Dogs are undefeated in the region, but a loss to Early County would drop them into a tie with the Bobcats and Fitzgerald.

Various tie-breakers could have Thomasville on the road instead of at home for the first round of the state playoffs, but Bulldogs head coach Richie Marsh says it's nice to know his team controls its own fate Friday night.

"That's the way it goes," says Marsh. "That's football. To be tied for first and fall to third, but hopefully we don't have to deal with that. We couldn't have asked for a better situation on our part, so we just got to finish."

Thomasville hosts Early County Friday at 7:30 pm.

The Bulldogs last won the region championship in 2004.
