Knights ready for region title showdown in Macon

November 6, 2007

Albany - The final week of the high school football regular season offers several big games that will decide region titles.

One of them is in Macon where Deerfield-Windsor plays First Presbyterian.

The winner will claim the GISA AAA south region title.

This year the region champion will play at home as long as they are in the state playoffs.

With an 8-1 record and number two ranking in the state, Deerfield-Windsor wants to play in the state championship game in three weeks.

Winning on the road at FPD however is never easy.

Deerfield-Windsor head coach Allen Lowe said "They have got a great offensive bunch. The Clubb kid at quarterback throws the ball well but they have got Matthew Dubose who has over a thousand yards rushing. They are well balanced and it is going to be hard to stop them. We have got to find a way to slow them down. Not give up big plays and we have got to execute offensively."

Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m.
