Albany - Years before you were probably aware there was a potential water crisis, one South Georgia group was working on water education.
The Southwest Georgia Water Resources task force formed about eight years ago to fill a gap in educating people about the value of our most precious resource. Hydrologist Woody Hicks says we sit on one of the richest water bases in the state and that's why the task force exists. He said, "We're trying to look into areas where we might need to identify gaps and where our organization can fill those gaps in helping folks understand the value and conservation of the water."
The task force hopes to add new members to the group with fresh ideas and bring those to the table at the beginning of the new year.
