Masked bandit robs insurance office

November 6, 2007

Albany --  An East Albany Insurance Agency is robbed at gunpoint by a masked man in the middle of the afternoon.

At 3:30 Monday, a man wearing mask and armed with a pistol walked into the Direct General Insurance office in the 2400 block of Sylvester Road. The gunman jumped the counter inside, and made employee Judy Lee lie on the floor while he rifled the desks.

Then he made her go in the rear of the store, where he searched for more money.

The robber took over a thousand dollars in cash and checks, and ran out the back door.
