Lakeland, FL -- The Darton women's soccer team was looking for a chance to return to their home field to play for the national championship, taking on Polk Community College Saturday in the district tournament.
The winner would advance to play in the national tournament played at Darton, but the Lady Cavs lose in the district finals 4-2.
Polk scored three goals in the first half to take the lead.
Darton came back to cut the deficit to one in the second, but the Lady Tigers added a late score for the two goal spread.
It's the only loss of the year for Darton, and they finish the season with 20 wins, one loss, and one tie.
