Good Samaritan gives to Moody Airman

November 2, 2007

Valdosta - Here's an amazing story about a thankful good Samaritan.  When an airman at Moody Air Force Base lost his wallet, not only was it returned but it had more money stuffed inside.

Technical Sergeant David Patten lost his wallet in the Atlanta Airport right before he caught a flight back to Valdosta.

Luckily a woman found it and turned it into a customer service agent. She also left a note that said "thank you for your service" and a one hundred dollar bill in the wallet.

"I was really shocked and surprised somebody would do that for an individual. It takes an individual of certain character and I want to thank her for her service and for her attitude that she holds towards the military," says TSgt Patten.

Patten wishes he could thank the good Samaritan in person, but he doesn't know the woman's name or where she's from.

He says support like that helps keep him and his fellow airmen going.
