Valdosta - Two candidates are to win the District One seat on the Valdosta City Council.

Incumbent James Wright is wrapping up his fourth year on city council, but is hoping for four more.

But pastor and businessman Wade McCrae thinks he can do a better job and both have priorities they want to address if elected.

"To develop our youth, to give them industry and drive to overcome gang activity and terroristic threats through young people, and to help increase our graduation rate," McCrae says.

"Affordable housing and in terms of the city, traffic and growth. Thing of that nature is really what I've been instrumental in," Wright adds.

Early voting is going on now at the Lowndes County Board of Elections.

All other polls will open at 7:00 Tuesday morning.
