Albany - Hindsight is never blind. Last fall, Dallas and Chicago in the Arena Football Leauge both offered contracts to former Westover and South Georgia Wildcat receiver Antwone Savage.
Savage picked Dallas and at the end of training camp found himself released and back in the Arena 2 Football League.
When the AFL's free agency period started on Monday, Chicago was again offering Savage a contract and this time the former Oklahoma Sonner accepted.
Chicago lost the AFL's top receiver Bobby Sippio to the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs and have told Antwone he has a good chance at earning a starting position when training camp opens in February.
Antwone Savage said "You can always be invited somewhere but if you are not wanted, what is the point in being there. With Chicago being really interested in me, I am really interested in getting up there and getting to work."
Antwone Savage was a first team all AF2 performer this season in Spokane where he caught 40 touchdown passes. Antwone Savage was a first team all AF2 performer this season in Spokane where he caught 40 touchdown passes.
