Colquitt - It hasn't been too long ago when Miller County was one of the top teams in Class A and producing such great players as Charles Grant, Don Calloway, Selma Calloway and Brandon Miller.
The Pirate ship ran aground the past two years with just five wins that span.
New head coach Frank Killingsworth has the Pirates are sailing again to the playoffs.
Miller County already has won five games this season and are sitting in second place in region 1-A.
Miller County can moved into first place by knocking off mighty Clinch County in Homerville.
In the last five years, the Panthers have won two state titles, four region titles and were state runner-up last year.
The Pirates goal this year was to win the region title and they know they road to region runs through Homerville.
Frank Killingsworth said "Our kids are not intimidated by anybody. We go on the field, and it doesn't matter who we're playing. Our kids think they're just as good or better than they are."
Friday night's game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. in Homerville.
