Athens - Thomasville's Harris English has been named the college player of the week by Golf World Magazine.
The Georgia freshman earning the honor after earning medalist honors in two consecutive tournaments.
English placed first at Mercer University's Brickyard Collegiate and at Central Florida's Isleworth Invitation.
The reigning Georgia Amateur champion had a scoring average this fall of 70.78.
The Georgia golf team is ranked number one by Golfweek.
The Bulldogs have completed their fall schedule and are back in action at the end of February at the Puerto Rico Shootout.
