New city-county planning director announced

October 29, 2007

Albany --  Dougherty county and the city of Albany have a new planning director. Howard Brown was officially introduced in the County Commission meeting Monday morning. He has an extensive background working in several city positions.

Though he has only been in the position for a few weeks, Brown sees a big opportunity to streamline the communication between several departments.  "Well, with me being new, I plan on actually looking at divisions, the organization, anywhere we can make improvements especially processing improvements. That is one of the key things I see right now," said Brown.

As planning director, Brown will be responsible for directing, managing, and supervising those in planning and development positions within the City of Albany.
