Columbus -- Playing in the GHSA Elite Eight tournament, the Berrien softball team and suffered a set-back on the first day of the playoffs.
The Lady Rebels were beaten 8-0 by Greater Atlanta Christian Thursday, forcing them into the losers bracket.
Berrien fought all the way back through that bracket, only to face the Lady Spartans again Saturday morning, with a trip to the state championship game on the line.
The Lady Rebels would exact their revenge, beat GAC 1-0, and advance to the title game against Buford.
The Lady Wolves will blow open a 1-0 game with seven runs in the 4th, and Berrien falls 8-1.
Ivy Lancaster drove in Kellie Moore for the Lady Rebels only run.
Berrien finishes the year runner-up in the AA State Softball Tournament
