Albany -- The Westover football team upset Monroe 29-28 Saturday night at Hugh Mills Stadium.
It's the first region loss for the Tornados, and draws the Patriots into a tie for second with a 2-1 region record.
Monroe got on the board first, with a Sherman Stephens TD run, but they miss the extra point.
Westover comes back to take the lead as Darryl Benton finds the endzone.
A touchdown and two-point conversion by Tony Greene gave the Tornados a 14-7 lead, but Brandon Lee will connect with Kenji Breedlove on a 17-yard TD pass to tie the game with less than a minute to go in the game.
The Patriots put a quick score on the board at the start of the second half, and hold on for the 1-point win.
Monroe finishes the season at Cairo and at Dougherty, while Westover travels to Crisp County and hosts Worth County.
