Berrien still alive in softball finals

Columbus - Berrien High survives two elimination games to make it to the final day of play.

Rebelettes pitcher Ivy McCranie tossed two shutouts on Friday.

Berrien beat Savannah Christian 1-0 and then on Friday night blanked Rutland 4-0.

Berrien will Greater Atlanta Christian Saturday morning with the winner advancing to the finals to play Buford.

 Lee County's first ever trip to the AAAA elite eight was short.  

The Lady Trojans see their season end with a 9-1 loss to Whitewater Friday morning at Columbus' South Commons Complex.

It was still a great season for a young Lee County team that won 20 games and a fourth straight region title.

In AAAAA, Tift County elminated Warner Robins 3-1 on Friday afternoon.

The Lady Devils season ended with a 2-0 loss to Peachtree Ridge.

Lowndes saw their season conclude with 8-3 loss in eight innings to Grayson.
