Albany-  Registration for this year's Toys for Tots Campaign will begin next week, and this year the need is greater than ever.

Right now, the warehouse at the Marine Corps Logistics Base is empty, but by mid-December Marines and the Salvation Army hope it will be overflowing with toys. Registration will begin Monday and this year they're extending the program to areas outside Albany.

"We're going to expect a larger increase of toys this year because we're reaching out to more areas of the community that we haven't reached before so that always brings a larger need," said Petty Officer 1st Class John Gilbreath, Toys for Tot's Coordinator.

Families in need can register at the Salvation Army or by logging onto the Toy for Tots web site at www.swgatoysfortots.org.

They also need organizations to accept drop boxes. Registration will take place over the next two weeks.
