Thomasville -- The suspected con-man who attacked a south Georgia woman, and women in at least two other states, is in custody in Louisiana.
Two weeks ago, 44-year-old Jaime Diaz was staying at the Days Inn in Thomasville, when he tricked a local realtor into meeting him at a vacant property, under the guise of a buyer.
While she was showing him the house, he pushed her down and knife point, tied her up with a telephone cord and robbed her.
Thursday night authorities in Slidell, Louisiana arrested a man driving the same stolen car with New Jersey plates that the Thomasville suspect was seen driving.
"We're happy about that because now that we know he's in custody we're not worried about him hurting anyone," said Investigator Bob Brettel of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.
After facing other charges in Louisiana and Alabama, Diaz will be extradited back to Thomasville, where he'll be charged with armed robbery, kidnapping, and car theft.
