Westover back earns player of week award

Albany - Westover riding high after their first win over Dougherty in almost 20 years.

Westover running back Darryl Benton is this week's Orthopaedic Associates Albany Area Player of the Week award winner.

Benton earning the honors after rushing for 158 yards and scoring one touchdown last week for the Patriots.

A win Darryl says gives the team a needed boost of confidence heading into the stretch run of the season.

Darryl Benton said "We needed the win. So, we got it. We have to look forward to tomorrow now though."

Westover plays Monroe Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Hugh Mills Stadium.
