Valdosta - Eight people are running for four seats on the Valdosta City Council.
In District Five, ten year Incumbent David Sumner is challenged by Tim Carroll, a Valdosta businessman.
Both say land development regulations and traffic planning are top priorities as the city continues to grow. "Traffic. That's really a major issue that everyone's concerned with and we have a report coming out soon that's going to be a good tool for us to use to look towards the future," Sumner says.
"We've got to really pay attention how the traffic master plan study finishes up, how we adopt it and most importantly how we implement it," Carroll adds.
The election will take place November Sixth.
Valdosta City Council At-large, District one and district three are also open.
