Albany -- The scoreboard at Hugh Mills Stadium was at full tilt in the second half of Saturday night's game, as Westover beat Dougherty 35-34.
It's believed to be the first win for the Patriots against the Trojans in 20 years.
Trailing 6-0 with five seconds left in the first half and facing 4th and goal, Darryl Benton ran in for a touchdown, and the extra point put Westover up 7-6 at the break.
The Partiots got the ball back at the start of the second half, and Steven Cantrell would return the kick for a TD, giving Westover a 14-6 lead.
That's 14-points in about 20 seconds for the Patriots.
Dougherty answered back, and a Terry Bryant TD and a 2-point conversion tied it at 14, but the Partiots will prevail with the 1-point win.
The Trojans host Cairo next week, while Westover welcomes in Monroe.
