Monroe lineman earns player of week honors

October 18, 2007

When you think of Monroe High's offense, you think of the Tornadoes passing attack. Monroe though has balance with a running game.

Monroe lineman David Noel is a big part of the Tornadoes ground attack.

Noel is this week's recipient of the Orthopaedic Associates Albany Area Player of the Week Award.

David and the rest of the offensive line cleared the way for Monroe backs to run for 164 yards in last week's game against Worth County.

That is a six yards per carry average.

David says the guys up front may not get the glory the backs do after such a performance but they take pride in their performance.

David Noel said "It feels great. that means we were worked hard. the line worked hard and we did very well during the game. we did what we are supposed to do."

David Noel and his Monroe teammates have a big region game Thursday night at Hugh MIlls Stadium with Crisp County.
