ASU Students Get a Lesson From Professionals

October 16, 2007

Albany - - Some college students are learning what it takes to make it in the business world from people who know.

Tuesday, members of the National Black Executive group talked to Albany State University students about how to succeed after graduation.

"It's very important to give back to the community and make sure that the younger people coming along understand the opportunities that's available to them and understand and see people that look like them that have succeeded in life from a business standpoint and be able to go on to bigger and better things," says group member Derrick Waters.

"When members of the community leave and gain experience and then come back, it's a tremendous feeling for me," says student Dolyn Duckett.

Representatives from Cox Communications and UPS visited campus. They've visited colleges around the country for 18 years.
