Albany - The Civil Rights Institute needs your help to make it's new exhibit space an educational success. Workers are currently collecting any civil rights memorabilia from the 1950s and 60s to go into the 12,000 foot expansion at the museum, but they need your help and personal collections to fill that space.
Daaiyah Salaam said, "We need periodicals, photographs, we need any memorabilia from those eras to come to the museum so we can actually have things from this community to put in the museum and not only Dougherty County but the surrounding counties."
The expansion is expected to open next summer. To find out how you can contribute, you can call the Civil Rights Institute. That number is 430-3910, or you can email Daaiyah Salaam at dsalaam@albanycivilrights.org
