Dougherty County -- Investigators say the gun used in the shooting of a Dougherty County teenager was stolen. The suspect surrendered to police Friday.

18-year old Kevoski Ware had his Mother call Dougherty County Police Friday morning. Police came to their home on War Eagle Drive and arrested him.

Outside that home Wednesday night, 18-year old Brandon Parks was shot once in the abdomen with a 9-millimeter pistol. Ware took off after the shooting. Investigators charged him with aggravated assault and theft by receiving. Captain Jimmy Sexton said "the theft by receiving stolen property, the pistol was stolen in a burglary."

Ware and Parks are friends. A witness told police the shooting was an accident.

Investigators won't say from where the pistol was stolen or what Ware told them about the shooting.

Parks is hospitalized in good condition.
