Albany --One of WALB News Ten's most famous alumni visited the television station where he worked in the 1950-s Thursday afternoon.

Jay Barbree, who has covered NASA and the Space Industry for N-B-C News for 50 years, toured WALB again. The 73-year old Early County native started his television broadcasting career at WALB from 1955 to 1957.

He is the only reporter to cover all 150 American manned space missions. Barbree wrote a book titled "Live from Cape Canaveral", sharing his experiences reporting on space exploration from its very beginning. Barbree said "this is a people's book, it's not a text book. It's about the pranks of the astronauts, the fun times, how this young community was and the things that they did. And how it has changed over the course of this 50 years. "

Barbree's new book is the best seller in the science category. He's preparing to cover the next manned launch at NASA for NBC News October 23rd.
