Bainbridge --  The Decatur County Sheriff's Office arrested 20-year-old Pamela McGriff at her home in Cairo Tuesday night on three counts of terroristic threats.

Investigators believe McGriff is the person who left a written message in a women's restroom at Bainbridge College, threatening to shoot up the campus today, on October 10 at 10:10AM.

Classes are continuing as scheduled, but the school has told students if they don't feel comfortable attending, their teachers will work with them.  The Sheriff says the campus will continue to have increased security, and the investigation is continuing.

  • Bainbridge College President Dr. Tom Wilkerson today sent the following to the BC community:

I have been informed that local law enforcement authorities have arrested Pamela McGriff, a BC student, in connection with the recent fires and shooting threats here on campus.

The investigation will continue, and present security measures will remain in place until 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Additionally, the College will proceed with the purchase and installation of a loud speaker system for campus notifications and security cameras for all of our buildings.
