Americus- Sixty jobs will be created in Sumter County when a railcar repair service opens this month.
Southeast Railcar and Locomotive Services will build a railcar repair and reconditioning operation on Highway 280 near Plains.
The new facility will be located along the Heart of Georgia Railroad offering access to two national rail companies, CSX and Norfolk Southern.
The group will be looking for highly skilled welders and technicians who can repair and refurbish cars for the railroad companies.
