Albany-- Butterflies filled Veterans Park Amphitheater this morning as the Albany Liberty House kicked off Domestic Violence Awareness month. The gathering was to celebrate the memory of those who have died as a result of domestic violence.

The Monarchs, Painted Ladies, and Long Winged Zebra's were released as part of the events theme "if nothing in the world ever changed, there wouldn't be butterflies. Organizers say the butterfly is a great way to represent changes, that need to happen to stop domestic violence" said Liberty House Executive Director Silke Deeley.
