Thomas Commission candidate sets platform

October 3, 2007

Thomasville --  Businessmen heard from a candidate running for office in a November special election.

Claud Davis is running for Thomas County Commission. He told the Business Action Council his two primary goals as commissioner would be to improve the rocky relationship between the city and county governments, and to help the county prepare for growth.

"I think growth is good, I don't believe you can stop it, I don't think you should try to stop it.  But I do think we should think about the types of growth we want, where its going to go and how we should get there," said Davis.

Davis is running for the District 7 seat on the commission.  That seat was left vacant after commissioner Robert Holton was killed in a car crash in July.
