Valdosta - After a drop in enrollment last year, at least one Technical College is finally seeing an increase in students.

Valdosta Technical College estimates 25 hundred students attended the first class of the second quarter Wednesday.

They say that number is up two percent over last year.

They contribute the enrollment increase to the success of the community.  "When things change in the community, we have a tendency to have enrollment move up also. We get new industries in and that sort of thing and people are trying to train to be eligible to work in those industries," says Garey Wood, Vice President of Student Affairs.

School administrators say they are now on track to see an increase in enrollment for the rest of the year.
