Man stabbed 3 times at the Mabry

September 30, 2007

Albany -- Albany Police respond to a stabbing at a local motel already in danger of shutting down because of crime.

One man is behind bars and another injured after he was stabbed at the Mabry Motel on Slappey Blvd.

Albany Police responded to room 118 shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Eyewitnesses told police that 35-year-old Alex Dominguez Martinez and his roommate, 51-year-old Andres Herreara Sentelles were arguing inside their room when Sentelles stabbed Martinez three times, once in the chest, the left hand and the left shoulder.

Sentelles remains in the Dougherty County Jail charged with aggravated assault.

Martinez was treated and released from Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital.

Last month, the Mabry Motel was one of two Albany motels warned by Dougherty County District Attorney Ken Hodges to clean up crime or face stiff consequences.
